The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Pick 'n' Roll: Today's best NBA bets

Washington Wizards at Toronto Raptors

Some teams fail to show up on the road. The Wizards are in a totally different zip code.

Washington is a respectable 5-3 at home, but an abysmal 0-8 on the road, including losses to Detroit and New York. The problem for the Wizards is that they always seem to leave their jumpers at home. The team is averaging a pathetic 93.5 points per game in opponents gyms.

"All it takes is one game, on the road to win, and from there, you just get momentum. All it's going to take is just one game to get your confidence," Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas said. "It comes with youth. Inexperienced players, getting a chance to play when they really haven't had a chance to develop any skill. But that's what happens when you're a rebuilding team."

Meantime, Toronto has won three of its past four home games, including wins over Boston and Houston. In the victories, the Raptors are averaging more than 104 points per game.

Canada and the Raptors should have a chilly reception for the Wizards.

Pick: Toronto

Orlando Magic at Chicago Bulls

Who would have thought that the Bulls would buy into the concept of better team defense? But they team is, and the results have put the squad atop the Central Division.

Chicago is giving up just 98.5 points per game and is allowing opponents to average a miniscule 43.7 percent from the floor. Opponents are shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc because of the team’s defensive rotations leaving the wings open, but most foes are hesitant to jack enough triples to make them pay.

The results of the new commitment to defense has been easy transition buckets, allowing the team to craft a top-10 offense (101.6 points per game, 46.2 field goal pct), without having a true jump shooter outside of Kyle Korver.

"The only thing he says is about pick and roll," Chicago star guard Derrick Rose said of Coach Tom Thibodeau's approach. "He wants me to attack. Other than that, I could take a bad shot, do whatever, he will not say it's a bad shot. But if I don't help on defense, he'll curse the whole team out, me out, make me feel bad. But offensively, he's not worried about that, defensively, that's where he keys in at."

That’s not good news for the Magic, which love to slow teams down and force them to penetrate against elite shot blocker Dwight Howard. The Bulls should get enough easy baskets to pull out a tough win.

Pick: Chicago

College Funds: Today's best NCAAB bets

Temple Owls at Central Michigan Chippewas (+8)

Central Michigan will do something in this game it has yet to do in its first five this season: play at home. The Chippewas picked a tough opponent and a late date for their home opener, but will have a sellout crowd of 5,300, a third of which will be students, to open the brand new McGuirk Arena.

Central Michigan isn’t a world-beater yet, but the Chippewas have yet to lose a game by more than seven points, including two overtime losses, and are coming off the team’s most complete outing of the season in a 62-52 win at Illinois-Chicago.

In the victory, the underdog Chippewas got a standout performance from freshman Trey Zeigler, who notched a team-high 17 points to go with seven rebounds.

On the other side, Temple has yet to play a true road game this season and struggledin its first time away from Philadelphia, losing to Texas A&M and Cal on neutral floors.

The Chippewa faithful will be the difference.

Pick: Central Michigan

Indiana Hoosiers at Boston College Eagles (-6, 129)

When you hear about Indiana being undefeated and heading into Chestnut Hill, you think that the Hoosiers should be laying points against a mediocre Boston College team. Not so fast.

Indiana has played all six of its games so far at home, won each by at least 13 points and shelled out plenty of money to lower conference bottom feeders to roll into Bloomington to get a beatdown. Northwestern State? North Carolina Central? Florida Gulf Coast? Please.

The Eagles have beaten Cal, Texas A&M and Holy Cross and also played well for stretches in a loss to Wisconsin. The key for the Eagles has been the team’s depth: nine players scored in a 68-46 win over Cal, including three in double figures.

“I think we have more guys feeling their roles,” Boston College coach Steven Donahue said. “I think all of the guys are happy right now with their role. Even though their role may not be what they thought it would be, that’s the sign of a team maturing and growing.’’

Boston College is battle-tested and growing together. Indiana has yet to face a competitive team.

Pick: Boston College

Ice picks: Today's best NHL bets

Edmonton Oilers at Montreal Canadiens (-220, 5.5)

Oilers goaltender Martin Gerber is getting a second life in Edmonton.

An injury to the team’s No.1, Nikolai Khabibulin, and struggles from fellow backup Devan Dubnyk have forced the Oilers to lean on the NHL journeyman, who has played for five different teams during his career.

Gerber is making the most of it, winning his two starts with Edmonton, including a 23-save performance in a 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators Monday. He shut the door on Ottawa, one of his former clubs, including a thrilling save in the middle frame.

"He had a great game," center Andrew Cogliano told reporters. "He's a really good goalie and that breakaway in the second really kept us in the game and gave us momentum, and I thought he did a great job for us."

Going back to last season, Gerber has won four straight appearances and has helped his teams play under the total in three of those contests. Both games with Edmonton have played below the number.

Pick: Under

Washington Capitals at St. Louis Blues (+118, 5.5)

The Capitals, one of the most gifted scoring teams in the NHL, have been wonders on the under in recent games. Washington has played below the total in five of its last six contests, facing numbers of six goals or higher in that span.

Books are giving the Blues defense credit Wednesday, opening the total for their tilt with the Capitals at 5.5 goals – something D.C. backers haven’t seen since the middle of November. However, there is a method to that madness.

Looking at home/away splits, the Capitals have a 2-9 over/under mark away from the Verizon Center and average just 2.45 goals per road game (27 goals in 11 away games), compared to netting more than four goals a night at home (57 goals in 14 games).

Add to that, St. Louis has stayed below the total in four straight outings heading into Tuesday’s matchup with Chicago, and average 2.5 goals per game this season – 23rd in the NHL.

Bettors' best friend: Wednesday's wagering tips

Who’s hot

NBA: San Antonio Spurs are 7-2 ATS in their past nine overall.

NBA: Detroit Pistons are 17-7 ATS in their past 24 overall.

NHL: Montreal Canadiens have won seven of their past 10 overall.

NHL: Phoenix Coyotes have won seven of their past eight overall.

NCAAB: Towson Tigers have seen the over hit in 10 of their past 11 overall.

Who’s not

NBA: Chicago Bulls have seen the under hit in nine of their past 10 games overall.

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks are 0-7-1 ATS in their past eight overall.

NHL: Calgary Flames are just 4-11 in their past 15 games overall.

NHL: Boston Bruins have seen the under go 15-4-2 in their past 21 overall.

NCAAB: Northeastern Huskies are 3-9 ATS in their past 12 overall.

Key stat

.786 – Winning percentage for November for the Dallas Mavericks, who finished the 11th month of the year with a record of 11-3. This is the team’s best percentage for any month it has played at least 10 games in since January of 2008. It also is coach Rick Carlisle’s best stretch since he was with the Pacers in January of 2004.

Injury that shouldn’t be overlooked

Chicago Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa will miss 2-3 weeks with a lower body injury after he had to be helped off the ice after he collided with teammate Nick Boynton during a practice on Monday. Hossa has eight goals and 18 points in 21 games this season for the Blackhawks, which are second in the Western Conference with 79 goals.

Game of the day

Purdue Boilermakers at Virginia Tech Hokies (-2.5)

Notable quotable

“I never realized how similar I am to Tom Brady. The obvious physical appearance would be the first thing.” – Jets coach Rex Ryan joking about his resemblance to Tom Brady.

Notes and tips

With a young defensive corps holding back the Capitals and a slew of injuries to its forwards hurting the Avalanche, the pair conspired on a deal. Washington shipped forward Tomas Fleischmann to Colorado for veteran defender Scott Hannan. Fleischmann, who had 23 goals last year, will play immediately on the Avs’ second line, while Hannan should get plenty of regular time. His blocked shots total the past four years would have led Washington each of those seasons.

The Charlotte Bobcats will be shorthanded on Wednesday as guard Stephen Jackson will be suspended for the meeting with New Orleans because he failed to leave the court in a timely manner after being ejected in a loss to Milwaukee on Saturday. Jackson is averaging a team-leading 18.1 points per game.

The Bengals kicking situation is a disaster. After starter Mike Nugent landed on injured reserve, the team opted to sign Aaron Pettrey, who had zero games of NFL experience. After Pettrey shanked a chip-shot early in a loss to the Jets on Thanksgiving, the team has gone in another direction. This time, it’s Clint Stitser, another rookie who has yet to see regular-season action.
